Field Scouting Report Templates

In the Platform, the users with the Administrator and Manager statuses can create Field Scouting Report Templates. By the help of these templates all users can add Scouting Reports in the Cropwise Operations Apps with equal measurements for fields with certain (all) crops.

The tool helps to speed up the process of creating Scouting Reports right in the fields. For example, by grouping the required measurements for regular inspections of fields with a particular crop, by selecting only required measurements for typical inspections of all company fields, and so on.

Creating Scouting Template  

1. Press the Gear/Settings  icon at the right corner of the Main Menu. Select any of the tabs. 
   • Select Crops 
   • Select Measurement types from the Scouting Category

Measurement Types

In addition to standard measurements, such as the density of planting, ears count, productivity, etc. the Platform enables its users to create their own measurement types and units and add any number of their parameters to the system. Then the users can use these measurements in Scouting Reports.

Measurement types and units can be added to the system by the users with the “Administrator” and “Manager” statuses.

1. Select Measurement type from the Scouting Category
2. Select +Create

New Measurement

1. Name the measurement
2. Select Create measurement type

3. +Add value type

Adding Measurement Values

1. Select the Field data type from the drop down menu
   • Boolean data type - a data type that can only have two values : true or false 
   • Date
   • Date and time
   • Drop down list - enter each option that will be available in the drop down menu (only one selection can be checked)  Type the item then hit return to enter the next item.
   • Drop down list (multiple selection) - enter each option that will be available in the drop down menu (multiple selections can check)
   • Float numbers - a number that can have decimals
   • Integer numbers - whole numbers without decimals
   • Text Data - free text 
2. Create measurement value type

Creating Scouting Template

Once all the measurements are created in the system then a scouting template can be created.

1. Select the Gear in the top right corner
2. Select Field Groups 
3. Scroll the left menu bar till you see Scouting
4. Select Field Scout Report Template
5. + Create Template
   • Name the scouting template
   • Select the crops that you want these scouting reports visible with.
   • Select the measurements that will be scouted in this template
     • Measurements can either be Required measurements or Optional measurements
     • Required measurements require the input to be entered to save the report
     • Optional measurements the measurements can be skipped and the report can still be saved
6. Create Template
